Children with disabilities below the age of three can obtain services through the New Jersey’s Early Intervention System. This publication is intended to assist and inform families of infants and toddlers interested in obtaining services from the Early Intervention System.

Preschool students with disabilities can receive special education services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The rules are unique for preschool students with disabilities in terms of eligibility and services under the IDEA. This publication serves as a guide to help parents navigate through the special education process for these particular students.
