What Parents of Children with I/DD Need to Know about Vocational Rehabilitation Transition Services

In July 22, 2014, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) was signed into law with bi-partisan congressional support. WIOA expands the provision of VR transition services to students with disabilities to ensure they receive services and training necessary to prepare them to obtain competitive integrated employment or supported employment post-graduation that aligns with their “strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice.”
Please watch as the Employment Team at Disability Rights NJ talks about WIOA and how it entitles our school-aged youths to receive services to help set up students for success in future employment.
