Ways To Support

You Can Make A Difference, Too

Support Disability Rights New Jersey

Thank you for taking the time to seek out ways that you can support the important work we do at Disability Rights NJ. Your financial support will help us meet our mission to advance the human, civil, and legal rights of New Jerseyans with disabilities and promote their self-determination, independence, and integration into all facets of community life. We can’t thank you enough and appreciate your support.

Disability Rights NJ is a registered charitable organization, exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Federal Tax Exempt ID number is 22-3317146. All contributions are tax deductible. Your monetary gift will help further our work of providing client-directed advocacy.

Support the Sarah W. Mitchell Public Interest Internship Program

The Sarah W. Mitchell Summer Public Interest Internship Program seeks to promote awareness of and commitment to careers in law and public interest which advance the human, civil, and legal rights of people with disabilities.

In May of 2023, Disability Rights NJ welcomed the inaugural cohort of Sarah W. Mitchell Public Interest Interns for the summer to work with our Investigations & Monitoring and Legal teams.

The program, named for the founding Executive Director of Disability Rights NJ and funded by contributions from our generous supporters, provides internships each summer to two law students and one undergraduate or graduate student in social work or psychology field of study, where the student has a demonstrated interest working with individuals with disabilities.

The internship program cannot exist without the continued support of our donors. Please consider making a contribution to directly support this worthy and valuable program that champions future advocates for the disability community.

In addition to making a  financial contribution,  there are several other meaningful ways you can support our mission as we advocate for the rights of New Jerseyans with disabilities.

Create a legacy through Planned Giving initiatives.

A living will or living trust is among the most private and sensitive of documents. For most people, family comes first, but many alumni and friends also choose to include a bequest or beneficiary gift to Disability Rights NJ. Your beneficiaries, both human and charitable, carry on your legacy through your written and executed estate plans.

Celebrate the life of a loved one

You may choose to honor, celebrate or memorialize someone with an investment in Disability Rights NJ. However you choose to give, please include the name and address of the person (or their family) in which you are giving or honoring and we will inform them of your gift.
