Disability Rights NJ is designated under federal law as the system to protect and advocate the rights of people with disabilities. The mission of Disability Rights New Jersey is to protect, advocate for and advance the rights of people with disabilities in pursuit of a society in which people with disabilities exercise self-determination and choice, and are treated with dignity and respect.
Disability Rights New Jersey‘s activities are grounded in its belief in the inherent value and worth of all individuals and their right to equality of opportunity and full participation in their communities.
Disability Rights New Jersey is a member of the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN). NDRN is a nonprofit membership organization for the federally mandated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) Systems and Client Assistance Programs (CAP) of each state for people with disabilities. Collectively, the P&A/CAP network is the largest provider of advocacy services to people with disabilities in the United States.
