Disability Rights New Jersey staff, along with Ryann Siclari from Central Jersey Legal Services, discuss the varying options for advance care planning as it relates to healthcare decisions. While always prudent, advanced healthcare planning and decision-making about minor children is more important than ever to ensure that your own wishes are carried out should it be necessary. We will also provide a brief overview of NJ’s medical rationing policy and exceptions to hospital visitation policy for individuals with disabilities and designated support persons.

A Psychiatric Advance Directive (PAD) is a document that details instructions on an individual’s psychiatric treatment in the event that individual is in crisis and lacks the capacity to make informed decisions about their care.
